Sexual dysfunctions are disorders that make it impossible for a person to have or enjoy intercourse. The term sexual dysfunction means difficult or painful sexual functioning. Some sexual dysfunctions may occur in both sexes, others are unique to one sex.
Until fairly recently, it was presumed that women were less sexual than men and it was only in the past few decades that women's sexual needs became accepted as legitimate in their own right. Accordingly, female sexual responsiveness became something of expected accomplishment; as a result, females began to develop more awareness about the existence of sexual dysfunctions ( FSD).
Up to 43% of women suffer from FSD according to the Journal of American Medical Association (1999); ( FSD : An Ignored Epidemic).
FSD range from the lack of sexual desire to prematurely completing the sexual response cycle.
