Refrigerators are an accessory found in nearly every household, each household chooses the refrigerator they purchase based on their need (capacity) and budget (cost). Refrigerators in today's world are considered a necessity more than a luxury due to rising global warming, people need a place to store food so it doesn't go bad, they need a place to keep drinks cold and a place to store things for the long run by freezing them. The reason I chose to do this investigation is because I have recently purchased a new refrigerator and while choosing the most optimum refrigerator for my house I started to wonder whether there is a correlation between the cost and the capacity of the refrigerator. Furthermore in the Indian culture the women of the house are expected to make decisions regarding the household hence I also wanted to investigate if the choice of the refrigerator is independent of gender or not. While writing my IA I formed a query regarding how a drink stays cold in the long run since in India due to the high temperatures drinks tend to warm pretty quickly, hence to further improve my IA I decided to include this in my investigation as well.

[...] The survey contained 4 questions: - What is the capacity of the refrigerator in liters? - What is the cost at which the refrigerator was bought? - What type of refrigerator is it? - Who chose the refrigerator? Raw Data: Table (The capacity of a refrigerator and its corresponding cost, type and the gender it was chosen by is seen for all the 30 couples surveyed). Serial Number (Capacity Of Refrigerator In Liters) (Cost Of Refrigerator In Rupees) Type Of Refrigerator Gender 1. [...]

[...] From the calculations we got a p-value of 0.01770606, this can also be written as 1.77%. Since our p-value is lesser compared to our significance level of 0.05 or we can reject the null hypothesis and accept our alternate hypothesis which is "Choice of refrigerator is not independent of gender". This tells us that the type of refrigerator bought (single, double and triple door) is dependent on gender. The results obtained here are generalizable to the Indian households since multiple ethnicities weren't surveyed. [...]
[...] Aim And Procedure: - The aim of this investigation is to identify if there is a correlation existing between the capacity and cost of a refrigerator, investigate if the choice of the refrigerator is independent of gender or not and investigate how a drink stays cold in the long run. - Primary data was collected for this investigation, hence the results obtained are accurate and generalizable to the current world population. - To investigate if there is a correlation existing between the capacity and cost of a refrigerator, Pearson's correlation coefficient will be calculated, investigating whether the choice of refrigerator is independent of gender or not will be done using the chi-squared test for independence and investigating how a drink stays cold in the long run will done by using differential calculus and first order differentiation.
