Their limit consists in the fact that as we were informed in the third document, the machines acquire information that they cannot understand. They can be programmed to do specific actions but not to understand anything. This is why they can't be autonomous because while they see a situation, they don't have the understanding to act accordingly. [...]

[...] The place of artificial intelligence in our world Our modern society is a very unique period due to all the progress we constantly see around us. We qualify as progress any improvement or development in every field that brings a positive change. Of course, there isn't a unanimous opinion about which change is positive and which is not. It's the case with the technological progress and more specifically the artificial technology. AI is the science field that strives to give to machines and computers a humanlike intelligence with which they could not only possess information but also have the ability to process, understand it and make a rational reasoning out of it. [...] Its effect on people The two sides of artificial intelligence described show us a very complex description of the ability of machines. It might be seen as a shortcut for all human activities and a time-saving gift. However, it could be seen as an overtaking progress that leaves humans with very little under their control. The lack of understanding of these machines that we saw previously might look like a way in which humans are superiors, but the first document that we saw proves an accurate point at which this lack of understanding would be a threat.
