Technology allows information to be shared quicker than ever before. Any subject or topic is readily available to be researched through various search engines. Youtube specifically conveys information through video format. I have utilized this medium to research the marketing topic of branding. Within this paper I will illustrate the points covered by Steve MacDonald in his Youtube video series "Branding and Marketing Expert".
Steve was featured on a show called Biz Talk With Zita. This particular episode was uploaded to Youtube on February 13, 2009. It was separated into two parts. Part one has a duration of seven minutes and thirteen seconds. Part two lasted for nine minutes and sixteen seconds. During the show, Zita Gustin interviews Steve MacDonald regarding the effects of social media on branding.
Steve MacDonald is the founder of StudioHDV. MacDonald is a brand strategy and media consultant. He has worked with various companies including but not limited to: Coke, Nike, Mazda Motors of America, Miller Brewing, and Proctor & Gamble. The goal of Steve's company is to assist other companies in becoming more efficient at saving money they spend on marketing. His career has lasted for over 22 years.

The book defines brand as distinguishing name or symbol that identifies the products or services offered by a seller and differentiates those products or service offered by a seller and differentiates those products and services from the offering of competitors." We are also offered the definition for brand association, which is "anything linked to or connected with the brand ams in a consumers memory." They are utilizing Twitter as a customer service tool. He also expressed the use of social media to expand the reach of companies to the top of search engines. This way if someone's looking for your company, you'll be at the top of the results on sites like Google.
