This case study involves a prison for adults in an average populated state. Over the several past years the prison struggled to keep staff members and revenue. Changes have been made in the prison within the past 2 years which heighten the prison's success. However, a new barrier stands in the way of the prison's accomplishments: the new governor.
Within the past 2 years a new prison director has taken over and within the past 6 months the prison director has been able to pull together a wonderful band staff members for the prison. Along with maintaining staff, the director has been able to develop educational, vocational, and treatment programs. The initiatives offered within the prison walls have not completely stopped the prison's revolving door, but it has reduced recidivism by a full 30 percent. The staff and community are noticing the decreasing numbers of offenders and are currently on board.
