As students are still required to take courses outside of their chosen discipline until working at a post-graduate level, students will find that different disciplines have vastly differing approaches to their own studies. It is difficult to place a quantitative value on the effectiveness of these different disciplines; rather, a more useful approach would be to compare two different approaches to discourse that two different disciplines take and take into consideration that these differing approaches will both have their own advantages and disadvantages.
[...] To tie the two subjects together, we can consider a history of psychology, which is the topic of the final paper reviewed entitled “Teaching the History of Psychology in Context or Breadth Leads to ‘Shallow' Learning.” This paper is somewhat of a combination of the two subjects.
