The devastation caused by the tsunami that struck the Southern, Eastern and Northern borders of Sri Lanka on the chilly morning of 26th December 2005 sails through our hearts even today. Thousands breathed their last breath in the turbulent waters of the tsunami, regardless of age gender or social class. This natural disaster created heaps of problems other than just the innumerous deaths. Some of the burning problems women have to face even today, are related to sexual harassment, problems due to women's inheritance rights, women being the ‘Over powered' group in society and Gendered division of labor.

[...] There are thousands of women out there who need help, support, counseling and a voice to speak on behalf of them, in order to let world know the plight of these victims of the tremendous natural disaster. Therefore I hope to implement a non-profit organization that would help rebuild the lives of women who are adversely affected by the devastating tsunami. This particular organization will be focusing on the following aspects. Helping displaced women reestablish their livelihood, by providing professional counseling for individuals and also for small groups. [...]
