The turn of the 21st century has brought about a relatively new legal issue: Do individuals have a legal right to determine how and when they die? Questions regarding the ethics, legality issues and the morality of physician-assisted-death (PAD) and euthanasia brought these questions into the forefront of public and political debate. Today, assistance in suicide is being provided under various guises, a practice that will most likely continue into the future.
