Against the carrying of weapons On the other side, there are many writers who denounce the violence involved in guns by describing the shootings. For example, Laura Kasischke, in her book The Life Before Her Eyes, describes the massacre of a school: every word is carefully chosen. She uses a very dark lexical field, linked to fear and anxiety, and emphasizes the sounds, sometimes frightening, sometimes absent.
