Over the years and all over the world, if we take a good look at the history, we will realise that great people lived and ruled countries and kingdoms. People like Alexander the Great, Nelson Mandela, Napoleon Bonaparte, etc. There are two things that characterise all these people. In fact, they ruled countries or kingdoms, and were into politics, according to the organisation of the society they lived in at that time. Plus, they were all loved and appreciated by their people.
[...] In order to better understand this topic, we propose the following main question: Do people learn the art of becoming a politician, or are they born with it? In the following lines, we will develop this topic in order to answer the above main question. Therefore, first of all, we will see the opinion stating that politicians are born with the ability to rule and lead people. In fact, we will develop the aspect where doing politics is gifted as a talent. [...]
[...] As it was written in Thomas's Carlyle book in 1840, “To Suggest That Leaders Do Not Enter the World With Extraordinary Endowment Is to Imply That People Enter the World With Equal Abilities, With Equal Talents.” This means that there is no way we can refute this idea because each and every one of us came into this world with his abilities or talents, that are different from one another. So, it is possible that some people can be born with the ability to be political leaders. If we consider music, football, basketball or many other fields, we will realise that people operating in each field are not the same. For example, every professional footballer can play football. But the question is; can they play like Lionel Messi or Ronaldinho? Plus, do they all put the same number of efforts in order to play good football? [...]
[...] Although some people without inborn abilities can become politicians, it is easier for someone with predisposed capacities. In order to go against the first ideology mentioned in this paper work, the Behavioural theorists believe in both natural abilities and artificial ones in a way that without each other, it will be difficult for one to be a politician. Plus, the natural qualities alone will not help, but the teachings, the experience and mentoring can make a politician in the long run. [...]
[...] As we have 5 stages of leaders, that is the same for politicians. A politician can be a poor one, an average one, a good one, a great one and finally a remarkable one. People like Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Ghandi and Nelson Mandela can be considered as remarkable politicians and leaders. If we have a close look at their history, we will see that these people were a fruit of a combination of inborn qualities and learned qualities. [...]
