The federal public health agency I have chosen for this project is the United States Department of Health & Human Services. In the health care field, a lot of time is needed to take care of patients effectively, in this crucial field time matters more than anywhere else because the lives of patients are at stake here. So it is obvious that the time for physicians and other health care professionals is needed to be focused as much on patients as it can. This would require cutting time on other things that are time-consuming but less important when compared to giving time to patients. Physicians have to use 12% of the money they get from patients in paper and administrative work. This can become hectic for physicians, as it consumes up to four hours in a week for a physician and five hours in a week for the supporting staff that works along with the physicians. In the health care industry, time is best consumed when it is consumed by taking care of patients (News Release, 2012).

[...] With new standards the use of a trace number is necessary which matches the bill and the payment. Previously it was almost impossible for the provider to match the two because when the provider submitted a claim, the health plan sometimes sent the Remittance Advice and the Electronic Funds Transfer Payment separately. This new system will reduce the manual paper work which is costly and time consuming and provide health care professionals with more time to focus on patient care (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, 2011).
