Over the years, tobacco has been produced in many countries around the globe, especially those from the American continent. In countries like Mexico, Brazil and Colombia, tobacco was considered in the past, as a gift from God, as a product to use in order to conclude a deal or a treaty of peace between the two countries, etc. Sometimes, it was just used socially for many purposes. As the Europeans started to enter the American continent, tobacco gradually became popular and was hence considered as an item to be commercialised.
[...] Tobacco is destroying the future of many individuals around the world to the extent that their consumers become people with mental disorder. What governments should do is reduce the quantity of tobacco produced per year in each every country of the world. In fact, they should put in place a plan where tobacco cultivation should be eradicated step by step and replaced by another activity in the agriculture field or out of this field. According to the plan, after some years, countries like Zimbabwe or Brazil, whose economy depends heavily on tobacco, will be able to find an alternative. [...]
[...] In fact, women barely have a say in the finance of a tobacco farm. When the revenue is divided, men always get more than women. Plus, men are the owners of the lands (titles). So, in reality, this does not help women in any way. Moreover, women working in the tobacco farms are exposed to many negative effects such as risks of miscarriage during pregnancy. So, if women were supposed to work in tobacco farms, their conditions must be implemented in a way that will allow them to feel respected and considered. [...]
[...] Secondly, we will see the disadvantages of producing and selling tobacco in the world. In the following lines, we will develop this topic. I. The advantages of producing and selling tobacco Usually, tobacco farming takes place in the low- and middle-income countries or LMIC. Although between 2000 and 2018, the tobacco's production decreased around the globe, this product is still being produced and sold all over the world. One of the advantages of tobacco farming is its economic prosperity. In fact, as the British American Tobacco declared, “Tobacco cultivation plays an important and positive role in livelihoods, helping to improve the wellbeing and increase the resilience of the tobacco farmers and labourers.” This means that, despite the difficulties of production, farmers keep on cultivating tobacco for the only reason that it plays a positive role in the LMIC. [...] Signing this convention should have been mandatory for every country or structure that produces tobacco. As long as tobacco companies will make huge benefits, they will remain in control of the situation. In fact, the money to pay is always available, whatever the amount generated by the taxes, etc. It will be better if the problem was attacked from its root, meaning the prohibition of tobacco production and not the other way around. The tobacco companies have large profit margins, far better than those of international brands exercising in other fields. [...]
[...] This way, in the long run, tobacco production will be eliminated, although those countries will surely lose some profit.
