In this presentation, I will discuss the ecological issues associated with street garbage. One of the main concerns is the accumulation of waste in the streets. Firstly, I selected this topic because it greatly impacted me, particularly during the garbage collectors' strike. This strike served as a reminder that this problem continues to persist.
[...] The ecological issues related to street garbage in the context of the French strike Problem: garbage in the streets In this talk, I will talk about an ecological issue. It is the accumulation of waste in the streets. First of all, I chose this topic because it is something that shocked me a lot, since the garbage collectors' strike and that made me realize that this problem still persists for many years. Plan : In the first step, we will see the causes of this problem. [...]
[...] But the other cause of this ecological issue is the increase of waste in France. Consequences : The consequences of this accumulation of waste are that they attract rats, there is a horrible smell in the streets, it can create serious diseases, the sidewalks are clogged so it is sometimes impossible to pass, this problem also affects the tourists who flee. And all of this contributes to pollution. About tourists, I would say that they are victims of clichés about France, especially with a new famous American series "Emily in Paris" which many tourists are tempted to visit Paris after watching the series, but many of them were disappointed by the dirtiness of the city. [...]
[...] Cause: garbage collectors' strike The garbage collectors are in fact participating in the strike concerning the pension reform in France. Indeed, for them this reform is incompatible because they have a life expectancy of 12 to 17 years less than all employees in France. This is a huge problem for them because they will not be able to finish their work until 64 years old since they will be in worse conditions than others. This is the cause of the garbage collectors's strike. [...]
[...] Conclusion : To conclude, we have seen that the accumulation of waste is increasing more and more. The strike of the garbage collectors made the problem even worse, but it made us realize the enormous quantity of our waste in France. This accumulation of waste must be solved urgently because this problem can create diseases, a lack of well being, and even scare away tourists. Today there are solutions but they do not completely solve the problem. Opening : On the other hand, since 2014, British scientists have developed a 40mL biodegradable water bubble based on algae.
