I took this workshop because it is fully related to SDG15 and SDG2 and because in my studies I did not have the opportunity to be made aware of this issue. This conference was structured around: CO2 emissions, the ethical aspects of food, and health and nutrition. The main goal of this conference was to exhibit animal violence due to the intensive production. And then the CO2 emission due to the intensive production. In this workshop, there were several surveys to get the opinion of the audience. This workshop was related to the Agenda 2030 by proposing some advice to solve SDG15, SDG14, SDG13, SDG3 and SDG2.
[...] I learned that scientists try to improve the future of feed oils and proteins sources. It is important to follow these 3 points: Nutrient composition Technical quality Competitive on a global market with consumer preferences, prices, and volume. (SDG12) Finally, with the third Dr., I understand that Insects look essential to set up a circularity in food consumption because 24% of GHG emissions come from the food. Moreover, in Norway of the GHG emissions of salmon farming come from the feed. Norway is only 2.4% circular against 24.5% for the Netherlands. [...]
[...] This workshop answers several targets from SDG14, SDG15 and SDG2. However, the first speaker of the workshop was unclear on his subjects which were hard to understand. This workshop permits me to know how the insect can be used in the future. Insects are animals with elements of vagueness in the mind of people, it is very interesting. I think it would have been interesting to make a survey, to know before introducing in-depth a subject, what people think about it. [...]
[...] In this workshop, there were several surveys to get the opinion of the audience. This workshop related to the agenda 2030 by proposing some advice to solve SDG15, SDG14, SDG13, SDG3 and SDG2. In this workshop, I learned that GLOBAL emission (SDG13) related to food consumption and production (SDG2/15) is around 26% of the total emission and this is an alarming figure, Livestock and fisheries are the most impacts. We could feed 10.2 billion people within the earth's endurance on a plant-based diet, the narrator tries so to push people to eat less meat. [...]
[...] WCFR says that 40% of cancer can be prevented from eating differently. Cattle eat chemicals that we will find in our meat. Finally, I learned the different ways to avoid deficiencies that I didn't know before, for example, we need vitamin B12, omega3. This conference was very engaged, and narrators try to drive us to become vegetarian, they said for example that a vegetarian diet is associated with a lower risk of chronic disease without saying that it can lead to some constraints. [...]
[...] The workshop was a talk with 4 speakers, one was the narrator, and the 3 others were Dr. They talked about the blue mussel and kelp, the importance of oils, and the future of insects. This workshop relates to Agenda 2030 because it brings real solutions, and it exhibits some research. In all the different speeches, narrators try to explain their vision of a circular economy of food (SDG8), it's mean that nothing is wasted, and everything is useful. This method will the carbon footprint (SDG13). [...]
