The topic of forbidden love is approached in each document. The first one is an excerpt from Romeo and Juliet written by the famous Shakespeare, a British poet of the 16th century. Corneille, Racine, Aristotle, and Horace are emblematic figures of this theatrical movement. The second one is a modern excerpt from the book Snow Falling on Cedars, written in 1995 by David Guterson, an American journalist and novelist. Moreover, there is a photograph taken by Annie Leibovitz, reproducing a scene from Romeo and Juliet.

[...] Hastue is a Japanese girl and a relationship between a white person and a Japanese person wouldn't be accepted and would be poorly regarded. In each time, there were and there will have barriers between people, whether for social, ethnic, religious or economic reasons. The forbidden love's problem is old but persistent. That's why it's a very modern problem. The society impose us to respect codes. However, love is not a controlled feeling. Nevertheless, these barriers that we could face are sometimes too hard to face and force us to surrender. [...]
[...] In the picture taken by Annie Leibovitz we can see Romeo, at Juliet's window. Juliet is worried, because she can't be seen with Romeo. The problem is that they have feeling to each other. Concerning the problem approach in the novel of David Guterson, is more about an ethnical one as we have said before. The story takes place in the USA in 1942, that is to say one year after the Pearl Harbor's attack. Japanese people are not appreciated, and are suffering from racism. [...]
