Writer, grammar, vocabulary and the elements of style
Thinking that writing is simple was a mistake. I filled many pages in illogical writing. Furthermore, I had not mastered the fundamentals of writing including grammar, vocabulary and the elements of style. Consequently, for a beginner writer there is the use of vague words that make the writing sloppy and incomprehensible. As a competent writer, I realized that the order and selection of words matters in writing. There is a need to write with clearly defined purpose. It is crucial to make a definite point backed by specific information. Furthermore, the information must be clearly connected and arranged with emphatic, concise and correct sentences. Specific detail is vital hence the need to avoid generalizations.
Other mistakes made by a beginner writer include failing to attend to details. The grammar, syntax and vocabulary may be superior, but the tone can ruin it all. Hence, there is a requirement to check the effects before putting them down. Drafting is fundamental since the attentiveness to the details of prose highlights an individual's attentiveness to the outside world. Knowing when to quit is essential to ensure that one does not leave ideas unnoticed. High-quality writing is like good dressing that is appealing whereas bad writing is comparable to bad dressing with badly chosen colors and improper emphasis.
[...] A captivating topic requires some brainstorming. Think about all the ideas bearing in mind the purpose of the writing. From this point, it becomes easy to choose a topic. The implication is that one should choose a topic that they care about without faking. It will make the ideas flow easily, and the reader will notice the passion in the writing. However, the topic should not be very narrow. It should exhibit a focused bearing in mind that an elaborate and rich topic entices and arouses the reader's curiosity. [...]
[...] Despite all these, it is imperative for an individual to seek the instructors' guidance. After all, writing is an art that requires collective efforts to master. Overcoming Challenges in Drafting Lack of valid, timely and relevant research posed a challenge while drafting. I would rely on the internet entirely, and I would end up with outdated information. By so doing, I would waste even more time starting from scratch. It would hence be impossible to stick to my draft, I had to keep changing, and I would end up more confused. [...]

Furthermore, I gained awareness regarding my strengths and weaknesses and how to overcome them a writer. Next time I will embrace criticism more calmly. The constructive criticism should motivate and inspire one to become an exemplary writer. The experience was dissimilar in a distinctive way. The personal attention accorded to individuals was unique unlike a past seminar that focused on group analysis.
