Three great works that have stood the test of time include the book Shakespeare, the Tempest, the second book, Toni Morrison and the Song of Solomon, and Sophocles and his great work, the Oedipus Rex. These works are wonderful works which are great for reading, and have been studied and analyzed throughout the centuries. They have been read by millions who have dealt with some of the most sensitive issues of our times.
These are the works that are critiqued practically since their publication. When something is published on an issue that is touchy, there are usually many critiques on the subject, and many people study the books for a long time. This essay attempts to look at books that have been published by other authors who have worked on these topics, and those authors who have been brave enough to take on a similar topic by updating the work. It also attempts to look at other authors who have attempted to update, publish, ponder, and display works similar to the authors' work.
Many great upcoming authors ponder these works, trying to display what they mean. These are the three books that have been chosen to be analyzed for this report. It is interesting to take a look at each, since Shakespeare's work, the Tempest, as well as the work from Sophocles, the Oedipus Rex, and compare them to the more recently published work from Toni Morrison, Song of Solomon.

The ever-famous Oedipus Rex, which is done in a format set for the stage, that Shakespeare chooses to write his work in an abrupt, almost-verse like style.
