Today, I would like to present you the emergence of the patriarchal social structure started approximately 12 000 years ago when ancient civilizations became agricultural societies. The structural aspect of societies led to an increase of power and professional skills among men that directly impacted the place of the women, limiting considerably their freedom and putting in perspective the differences in between genders.
[...] But education also means childhood education, when all in-puts from early moments shape our behaviours and built the foundation of our understanding of sociality and the place of the other. Unfortunately, as children are still exposed to gendered clothing, toys, or roles, the past structure will not be able to evolve. The perpetuation of societal norms starts with them and to truly uphold gender equality, gender roles and stereotyping must be understood as a current limitation of our society . [...]

[...] This history of fights for equality and acknowledgement of individuality didn't yet permit the cancellation of the past conceptions and stereotypes persist as a significant part of our society, in despite the achievements and the evolutions of mentalities. It exists and touches everyone, limiting our conception of possibilities for women, but also for men. The role of Education We can see that education played an important role in gender equality achievements. Education was, at first, a privilege, but became a fundamental human right universally acknowledged by international law. High-quality education equips people with the necessary skills and knowledges to contribute to life permitting to assure professionality and self-maintenance, and its accessibility keeps increasing.
