The significance of love in regards to modern day society is often widely overlooked. According to one definition from Merriam-Webster, the word, "love," means: a warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion. At the same time, there are eight are listed definitions of the word. Prior to this course, I assumed there were a maximum of three different types of love and that there was no considerable scientific data behind it. After much research, I was very wrong. In this essay, I will discuss twelve different types of love (even though there are still more).

Sexual love includes: lust, excitement, touching, kissing, specialty, intimacy, sexual intercourse or other sexual acts (oral, anal, etc), not long lasting, emotional, and closeness is included during sex but not necessarily after the act is complete. Sexual love is very passionate and exciting in the beginning of the relationship but as time progresses the excitement begins to dwindle down and inevitably ends poorly. [...] Rather than saying, "you have to break up with this person," try reflecting on "what you're seeing that seems unhealthy, or that worries you." The next form of love is romantic love. This type of love can be homosexual. Some characteristics included are: physical attraction, sharing, sexual relations, friendship, honesty, courtship, comfort, your world revolves around the individual, and idealistic. This type of love can be experienced by individuals who really don't know each other well. This form of love is very fairy tale like and can be one-sided. [...]
[...] Lastly, Eros is best translated to “marital love.” This type of love refers to the love between a man and a woman. If one is to have love between a man and another man or a woman and another woman then it is considered a sin in the bible. Eros is a staple element of the Christian faith which allows the passing of moral and religious values unto the next generation and so on. These are only what the bible provides, according to sociologists today, there are many more than those just listed above. [...]
[...] This type of love can be very fulfilling and vital to the development of any human being from different walks of life. Another form of love is friendship. This type of love is very similar to platonic love with a few exceptions: Friendship CAN include a sexual relationship. A friendship can include: caring, helping one another, honesty, trust, closeness, common interests, respect, and the sharing of experiences with one another. In an ideal friendship, both parties should feel free to express their emotions between one another however there are always exceptions to any rule. [...]
