[...] Informal speakers for god's word were threatened by the new introduced religion. Scholars were threatened by his wisdom. The spirits in Theodore's situation represent Socrates accusers. The sprits are threatened by the fact that they will be cast out from their home. Just as the accusers of Socrates tried as much as they could to get him out of their way, the demons in the situation with Theodore try as much as they can to stay within the people who have housed them.
