Strategic intervention plan, addressing substance abuse, Skirbeck, Lincolnshire, smoking, young adolescent
The predominant health problem with the highest prevalence in the area is smoking among young people. Substance use, particularly tobacco smoking by young adolescents, turns out to be one of the most predominant health problems in Skirbeck, Lincolnshire, with a prevalence rate of 4.5% among those aged 15. This rate not only reflects immediate health risks but is also significantly associated with higher chances of developing chronic health conditions in the future, like cancer and respiratory diseases, states Fingertips Public Health Data (2023). Against this, our proposed intervention will focus on the development of a comprehensive program for the prevention and cessation of tobacco use in young people.
[...] Sustainability and Scaling Plan To ensure sustainability and scalability in the long run for the 'Youth Smoke-Free Skirbeck' program, the approach towards funding will be much more diversified. Financial sustainability is obtained through diversified funding sources, which include grants at all levels of the local government, public health organizations at partnerships, and private sponsorships, not only for the routine but also for potential expansions. The intervention is modular, meaning that it can be adopted in part or whole according to the community settings and demographics, which provides further scope for the scalability of the intervention. [...]
[...] Surveys and feedback forms will be sent out electronically immediately after the intervention sessions to optimize response rates and the relevancy of the data. The process will use the already existing platforms, which have been identified to effectively reach the target group of the youth (Edalati & Conrod, 2019). The data analysis will use a quantitative technique to represent the responses received from attendance and statistical analysis techniques to show the trend and pattern developed. Qualitative feedback will be analyzed through thematic analysis, bringing out experiences and the program's impact. [...]
[...] Other short-term indicators of success will be the attendance measures, including engagement levels as indicated by the participants through the feedback questionnaires and any changes in the attitudes toward smoking from the pre-and post-session questionnaires. These will serve as immediate measurement indicators of the program's success with the target group, thus calling for necessary adjustments to elicit participant responses better. The data collected through these methods will make the monitoring process utterly complex. The collection includes using digital trackers to capture the completed sessions, dance logs, and management statistics from the use of interactive educational software by the participants. [...]

[...] This would, therefore, mean that the "Youth Smoke-Free Skirbeck" intervention goes a long way to educate and give young people tools for resilience, hence avoiding health inequalities. Delivery Plan The "Youth Smoke-Free Skirbeck" program will be rolled out in schools, community halls, and online media for total coverage, as many previous substance misuse interventions have shown success through these methods (Tancred et al., 2019). Schools will also be the central place for daily workshops and training simply because of the infrastructure and student traffic. [...]
