This topic is of great relevance and importance for two major reasons : the automobile industry is Germany's strongest economical leverage, both on a national and international level; more important, this scandal came at a time of debate about the measures needed to fight climate change : the Dieselgate revealed that the VW group stood on the wrong side of the fence on this issue
