The Lives of Campus Custodians is a book written by Peter Mark Magolda, a person who describes himself as an "educational anthropologist." In his book, Magolda tries to bring out the lives and work conditions of certain support staff in the university who are on many occasions rendered invisible. These are the people who keep the campus environment clean; they clean the offices, hallways, lecture halls, washrooms and public places. The book brings out the university's practices that contradict the values of inclusion, equity, and professionalism that they always advocate for.

This shows that the book does not have much to address racial inequality yet it is one of the main reasons for inequality practices among custodians since these blue-collar jobs are taken by non-whites. Hence, I strongly believe Magolda should have interviewed many nonwhites since they understand the issues well since they are the ones experiencing them. Reference Magolda, P. M. [...]
