Children and teenagers face a difficult situation that hampers their full functioning and general wellbeing in cases of domestic violence. This article aims to comprehensively look into the problem of witnessing domestic violence and take an applied approach. It aims to probe the strategies that are currently in place to address this issue, looking into whether there is or not a consensus on the ideal methods, evaluating the effectiveness of past approaches, identifying the constraints that impede progress, appraising the relevance of existing resources in society, and envisaging future strategies. Through the full coverage of these areas of violence, this paper intends to bring to the fore the complexities of the phenomenon of exposure to violence at home and to assist in developing informed and effective interventions for the welfare of the affected.
