In the current digital world, social media is a significant part of society, which has totally changed how people create and share news and information. Yet, in addition to its unquestionable advantages, there is a growing divergence of views concerning how this revolution affects users psychologically. According to Saini and Mir (2023), this problem, which emerges from the dynamic inter-correlation between social media usage and mental health conditions, has generated a contentious discussion among researchers, psychologists and the general population. From one perspective, advocates of the media's adverse effects assert that prolonged socializing creates anxiety, which is always preceded by depression and loneliness. Saini and Mir (2023) support this by suggesting that excessive screen time can result in negative self-evaluations, leading to cyberbullying and a decline in actual face-to-face social relationships. Conversely, social media's positive effects proponents view the opportunities offered through social media networks to create supportive communities, share resources, and cross boundaries as valuable tools.
