Through this project, I will delve deeper into the concept of self-monitoring and its connection to behavioral transformation. My area of focus will be linked to social media consumption. Self-monitoring is an intervention—more specifically, a self-directing behavior change technique—in which the person who wants to change observes and records their actions to enhance self-knowledge belonging to the behavior. This method stands in stark contrast to the digital era, where social media addiction has become widespread, putting mental health and productivity at risk. The global prevalence of such a trend has been deduced to exist across the globe, affecting all age groups and races with no exemptions. Research indicates that one of the current trends is social media addiction, which has become one of the most critical issues to address with the help of monitoring yourself or self-regulation tools.
[...] The project has helped me learn how to manage my social media usage and contributed to the emerging topic of the consequences of social or digital technologies in our daily lives. Therefore, using this holistic approach allowed me to better understand my social media behavior and the multiple levels of change and complexity. The lessons I will get from this process will inform my future strategies, and at the same time, the same process will be a model for people looking to manage their consumption of the digital world. By getting such a tool, I can gather guaranteed objective data on my social network activity, making it especially pleasant for a fair assessment of social behavior. It will show the amount of time spent and the frequency of sessions barely used, enlightening the tendency for compulsive use. These fine-tuned metrics will, in turn, provide the framework for my end-of-day and weekly reports, making the self-assessment process exceptionally efficient and reliable. [...]

The literature has established that societal settings, personal diversities, and the manifestation and resolution of media addiction are distinct. By carefully reporting and analyzing my actions, I can also contribute to a broader comprehension of these processes. By following the path to my triumph over self-doubt and diving into a deeper understanding of myself, the article can also provide a valuable reference for others in similar scenarios.
