With the recent market declining it is much harder to locate a job. This is the same for the employers but it is not because they have a lack of individuals seeking employment. It is sifting through the masses to try to find an individual that will labor at their job with the goal of positive performance and good work ethics. By the employer utilizing a suitable occupation analysis approach it aids them in locating an employee that will fit well into their business. Many different organizations utilize the expertise of an industrial and organizational psychologist to assist in locating this future employee for their business (Barrick & Mount, 1991).
One such career field is criminal justice and it typically uses tests, evaluations, and other functional job analysis methods in the hiring process as well as the review of one's employment performance.
Probation and parole officers will be the focal point within the career field of criminal justice for this paper. Functional job analysis is a vital process and is established at the very beginning of the selection procedure for candidates. This form of analysis sets in motion a course of different examinations and consultations that facilitate the employers with ways of rating the possible employee's. It also aids them in the introduction of guiding principle for the depiction of the job.
