Abstract

Aesthetics, a branch of philosophy, entails the nature of art beauty and taste in the development and recognition of beauty. Computational aesthetics is related to the use of information, communication and technology in the development of new aesthetic features. It aims to enable not only the analysis but also the augmentation of creativity.

Islamic art is an amazing category that encompasses a colossal body of art and architecture. The artistic tradition encompasses a variety of styles over a long period. Islamic art, however does not refer primarily to religious art, rather, it is a cultural identifier that retains regional characteristics. Therefore, Islamic art is art that adheres to Muslim aesthetics irrespective of geographic or national influences that have bearing on it. The art form has developed in three phases; the first phase is the period of its formation where the art form began evolving in Muslim lands. The second phase of the development marked the time when Islamic aesthetics was formed and became accepted. The third and final time was when Islamic aesthetics stopped controlling art produced in the Muslim regions.
