The Texas Abortion Ban is also known as Senate Bill 8 (S.B.8), and it was passed in May 2021. This law generally acts as a prohibition on abortions such that once any activity related to cardiac care is noticed, mainly around a gestation period of six weeks, where most people are not aware if they are pregnant (Cohen et al., 2022). In case anyone performs or even aids in the act of abortion, they can be sued by anyone, including private citizens. This, therefore, creates chilling impacts, especially on the providers of this law. The main goal of this policy is to ensure that the life of the unborn is protected.

However, the law has, until now, faced a lot of challenges, even from some of the stakeholders. It has turned out that some people are still going to court to try and challenge the law since the court has allowed people to challenge the policy as long as it is on strong ground with facts (Tanne, 2021). [...] Conclusion In summary, the Texas Abortion Ban policy has created a very significant impact, especially on access to abortion services. To some extent, it has helped in securing the lives of unborn babies. On the contrary, it has led to an increase in the birth rates among many people in Texas, where some are not even able to take care of large families. As a result, there has been a continued increase in the number of legal battles that are being tried to challenge the law by many policymakers, advocates, and researchers. [...]
