I am going to talk about the notion of "Myths and Heroes". But before we start, we shall say that a myth is a story that was initially "true" but as people retold it some parts may have been changed whereas a hero is a man or a woman of distinguished courage and ability who is admired for his or her brave deeds and noble qualities. To illustrate this notion, I would like to speak about the Black's struggle in the United States of America and attempt to answer the following question: How African American heroes managed to lead the black community to recognition?
[...] Board of Education in which the black lawyer Thurgood Marshall denounced this inequality and managed to make the government, in 1954, allow Black students to attend white schools. Yet, those black students were not welcomed in those schools. I would like to take as an example the case of Little Rock 9 about the first 9 black people that enrolled in a white public school in 1957. They were harshly persecuted every day as they attended that school. I think that those 9 pupils are heroes because they endured a true nightmare for years and at such a young age and paved the way for all the Black children that can now peacefully attend whatever school they want. Myth of equality between blacks and whites became a reality. The myth of the white supremacy was debunked by the struggle of the Blacks to achieve recognition. [...]
