British international section, cover letter, motivation, studies, english literature
This is an example of a cover letter for a British international section (the letter is often part of the file you send before the written and oral exams). To personalize it, all you need to do is change what's in bold and italics, but you can also add something a little more personal (like the fact that you need English for the job you want to do).
What's more, I was accepted to the British section I applied to, whereas there were people who had lived abroad all their lives who were turned down!
[...] I am writing this letter because I would like to be in the international section in high school. My principal motivation to continue the international section in high school is the obtention of an English mention into my "baccalauréat". This would create lots of new opportunities for my studies because I could go study in an English-speaking country. Also, I really like doing literature and studying books, poems or extracts, which is also a very important motivation, however, if I am not taken in the section, I will not be able to do as much English literature (if I do any). [...] Another motivation is that speaking English every day will prevent me from losing it, as I do not speak English at home. And even if I stay in France, it is always an advantage to know how to speak English fluently, like to travel and to discover the world or even speak on multiplayers games with others. Furthermore, I also think that the section is going to help me to learn to work hard everyday, which I am ready to do, as I believe that it is very important in life. [...]
