Children's psychological well-being is severely affected by instances of school shootings. With these cases on the rise, there is a high likelihood that the trauma experienced by victims will affect not only their well-being, but also that of school communities' well-being'. Children who have encountered such tragedies usually present acute stress disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and behavioural problems. Parents, educators, and mental health professionals are also anxious about the lasting influence of these tragic events. The psychological effects of school shootings must be dealt with in order to avoid additional damage and provide healing conditions where the child can be on top academically and emotionally.
