Study in the US has been and still a major objective for Chinese students, as different surveys like the one recently carried out by Art & Science Groups have pointed out. The Art & Science Group is an organization dedicated to advising US academic institutions on their enrollment practices. Their investigation determined that 94 % Chinese high school pupils would like to study in an English-speaking nation. They also found out that approximately 78 % would like to study in an American institution (Inside Higher, 2012).
In a global economic environment characterized by instability and crisis, China's economy is still growing. This wealth accumulation is generating numerous opportunities for young Chinese, who now have access to what could have never been imagined in decades (Schmitz, 2010). One of these opportunities is the chance to undertake their higher education in the UK. School-placement agencies have also realized the potential for this market and have started to help young Chinese students in the process of immigrating to America.
Most Chinese students who decide to study abroad choose US as their destination. Over 57,000 Chinese pupils undertook courses at American colleges in 2010-2011, six times more than in the academic year 2005-06 (Golden, 2011). During the academic year 2010-2011, more than 1,50,000 Chinese attended American institutions, an increase of 23 % from the 2009 – 2010 academic year was seen, according to the Institute of International Education (Mong, 2012). Most of these students pay their tuition fees in full. 20% of all foreign students in the US are Chinese, and the favourable prognostics for the Chinese economy indicate that this number can only be expected to increase during the next decades.(Schmitz, 2010).

Looking for professional help is a valuable advice that could be given to all Chinese high school and college students.
