In this report the author aims to educate the readers regarding environmentally sustainable event management. The author believes that in today's trend it is very important not only for event managers but also people from all other sectors to think about our environment and how our day to day working is affecting the environment. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Although events may seem all flashy and colorful and they as well are impacting the environment very negatively.
The reason for choosing this topic is that environment is a very important part of our lives. These issues are commanding increased attention from all the stakeholders of any event. All these years we have been talking about the advantage of environmental friendly measures on the environment but hardly a few are aware of its advantages to the business and stakeholders. Before going into details it is important to understand the meaning of environmentally sustainable event management. It is maximising the utilization of resources and minimizing the production of waste. Over the years "green events" and "green meetings" have entered the industry to minimize the negative effects of events on the environment. Some of the measures include carbon reduction, waste reduction, recycling, reuse and other initiatives.
