Obesity, Ireland, body fats
In contemporary times, obesity is a global problem. It has grown to be among the leading causes of death in the developed countries. In Ireland, there is a high prevalence of obesity. The rates of overweight people are 61% in adults and about 14 percent in children between the ages of 12 and fifteen percent. While the rates are higher in other countries, the figures are still unacceptable. To deal with the problem, it is important to determine its source.
Obesity is a situation that comes as a function of uncontrollable weigh gain. It affects the health of the affected person in a negative manner and has been known to result in fatality (Mahmood, 2013). It results from accumulation of body fats in a person to the extent where they interfere with the important body systems such as the circulatory system(Mahmood, 2013). It is relevant to understand the causes of obesity before exploring their origin and relevance to children growing up in Ireland.
[...] Therefore, the increasing rates on obesity among children in Ireland is a function of increasing reliance on virtual play and a poor diet. References Fahey, T., & Delaney, L. (2005). School children and sport in Ireland. Dublin: Economic and Social Research Institute. Martin, A. (2011). Pediatric psychopharmacology: Principles and practice (2.nd ed.). [...] Therefore, there is more incentive for the bodies to accumulate fats. There is an aspect of change in diet in the contemporary Irish children compared to past years. For example, the rise of fast food is an aspect on the contemporary era that was missing from the past. The increased workload in the parents also implies that they are likely to choose fast food to save on the time it takes to cook (Fahey& Delaney, 2005). For example, like the rest of the contemporary societies, the Irish women are increasingly choosing to pursue professional careers. [...]
[...] Therefore, the differences in genetic programming ion different people is an explanation to the differences in response to stimulus that affect obesity. This is to say that genetic programing increases the likelihood to gain weight by accumulation of fats in some people. Lifestyle factors also affect the incidence of obesity in people. The body of a person converts fats into energy. Theconvection reduces the incidence of fats in the body and therefore arrests the incidence of obesity(Coulston, 2008). Therefore, people in tasking jobs are less likely to suffer from the problems associated with obesity compared to say, office workers (Coulston, 2008). [...]
