There are multiple aspects of pain management. Bioethics plays a major role in pain management. Several methods used identify bioethics when dealing with pain management. Stem cell research is an exemplification of this. Through a specific case studied the relation of bioethics to pain management may be illustrated.
There is a specific definition associated with bioethics. Bioethics is identified as an activity. This activity is a reflective review of issues regarding morality in health care. The need for bioethics was discovered roughly forty years ago. (Jaffry) Health care, health science, and health policy each had separate ethical standards. Within each field there was a lack of questions regarding the standards as well. The combination of these problems provided the identification of a need for a discussion regarding standards. These standards needed to be public and more critical. (Jaffry)
Bioethics play a key role in today's society. It may be identified in through several mediums. It is revealed through the media, classrooms, offices, labs, and hospitals. (Jaffry) This may also be illustrated by reviewing one of the primary issues regarding the field. Stem cells have been a leading topic within the field for several years now. The case study from Doug Post and Doug Knutson of the Department of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University, entitled Saving Superman: Ethics and Stem Cell Research, reviews bioethics in relation to stem cells.

However, multiple arguments and factors are identified by the case study relating to Christopher Reeve. Each of these may reveal a further relationship between pain management and bioethics. The cost associated with stem cell research was also disregarded. In my opinion the consequences of the issues are important to a certain extent.
