Amid the complex web of North Carolina's educational framework, two persistent issues exist - the challenge of achieving educational equity and the struggle to provide a high-quality academic environment to all students. In a multicultural context where people from different communities and economic strata live, to what extent of concern is this the State's duty? The Leandro Case, which emerged as a milestone legal story affecting educational policy in North Carolina, will leave an unerasable mark in the policy sphere. The lawsuit resulted from this long process and stemmed from a dispute over whether the State should be compelled to give all students a "sound basic education."
