Abstract

A marriage is a life union between two people in love. Both advocators and opposers of homosexual marriage have differing perspectives on the sensitive issue of same-sex marriage. However, regardless of whether it is heterosexual or homosexual, marriage should be based on love, care and understanding.

Topic Sentence: The issue of same-sex marriage is controversial.

Opposers and proposers of same-sex marriage have pioneered many different perceptions. For example according to Wolfswoth (2009) and Olsen (2006), love is enough grounds for marriage between couples regardless of their sexual orientation. On the other hand, the Christian Monitor Science (1996) asserts that the marriage should be exclusively between different genders to make it viable.

Love is not the only foundation for marriage, and other social, cultural and religious issues must also be considered before judgments and assumptions can be made regarding the issue of marriage.

The issue of determining whether same-sex marriage is morally right or wrong is quite a complex issue that needs to be thoroughly analyzed before conclusions are drawn. This is because people's emotions are involved in the matter.
