Food, Varieties, plants and animals
Varieties of plants and animals make up our planet. These plants and animals provide man with a variety of food to choose from in order to survive and reproduce. However, the type of food available in a certain part of the globe depends on environmental, economic, and ecological factors. Climate influences the type of plants and animals in a place while a country's economy determines the type of food that can be afforded for import. As a result, varieties of food substances are available in different parts of the world even if they are not from that part of the world. This paper discusses a certain meal consisting of grilled chicken breast, baked asparagus, white long-grain rice, butter, and merlot wine in terms of the factors
discussed above.
According to the United States department of Agriculture (2012), fresh farm produce is essential for a healthy diet. Especially in vegetables like asparagus, it ensures that the vital nutrients are available for uptake by the consumer. Furthermore, it increases the aesthetic and smell of food not forgetting that fresh vegetables are easier to cook. Thus, this meal would be most beneficial if the asparagus was grown immediately prior to sale. With this perspective, it would be best if it was grown in close proximity to the grocery store.
