Defining personality requires a mix up of various elements in an individual's life. Moreover, it incorporates all feelings, patterns of thought and behaviors which makes an individual unique. However, Kalat James, in his book Introduction to Psychology, presents a variety of concepts, terms and thoughts which would help a person describe himself (Kalat 459). In this paper, I use a variety of terms, concepts and thought from the book to describe my personality.
To begin with, it is essential to understand my emotional aspect of life and how I handle feelings. This is determined by how my body responds to emotional distress. I am weak in the release of pent-up emotional tension, and tough situations are the ideal test of my emotional strength. For this reason, catharsis is a significant part of body function. However, my ego is on limits, and I am a rational person when it comes to quality decision making. This is partly due to my take on certain aspects of life. Motivation, I believe, is an essential aspect of building personality, and I keep my motivational spirit on check to protect my ego. In terms of development stage, I would describe myself to be in the genital stage. This is characterized by strong attraction to members of opposite sex, but with no interest at all.
Furthermore, I am a rational person, always trying to prove my actions in a right and justified manner. For this reason, I do not believe in personality projection; attribute the undesirable characteristics in me to other people. The challenges in life can be overcome with the right effort, zeal and determination, and each person should define himself within the limits of their lives, not blaming other people for misfortunes.
[...] Life becomes an accomplishment when achieves everything they believe they can, but there are a lot of hindrances in the journey of life which makes realization of such dreams a menace. The most outstanding trait in me is talkativeness. Given an opportunity, I can talk about a lot of things and situations to the right audience provided they listen. For this reason, I strive to develop communication skills because I believe someday I will address the public on an important issue. With all these, I strongly believe in a just world. [...]

However, sometimes I suffer inferiority complex. This feeling of inadequacy, weakness and helplessness sets in depending on the people around me. In most cases, the academic environment causes inferiority complex, and the desire to perform according to my own standards. Nevertheless, I strongly believe in my performance, abilities and worth, and these keep my self- esteem in check. [...]

[...] Freedom of thought and action is with each individual, and no one should be pushed to act. For this reason, unpleasant behaviors require fair treatment, and above all justice. Lastly, openness to experience sums up my ideologies in life. I enjoy new ideas and intellectual experience with the right people. The desire for growth, in me, is strong, and I welcome all opportunities to learn new ideas and feel part of the ever changing world. Works cited Kalat, James, W. Introduction to Psychology.
