Energy is very essential for human survival as it provide us with comfort, helps in increasing our productivity especially in the industrial development, hence, and gives us the opportunity to live as per our desire. For instance, some of the energy sources like hydropower help in the provision of electricity that is used for lighting and cooking among other (Buck et al, 2011). Therefore, energy is good for, hence, the production of energy in the world need to be increased in order to meet the demand of the people. Although energy may be important to people, it has various negative impacts that affects people in many ways. For instance, following one of the major earthquakes that occurred in March 2012 in East Japan affecting the three Fukushima Daiichi reactors resulted to nuclear accident as explained by Buck et al, (2011).
In the process of the tsunami, it affected the vessels resulting to leakages of the discharge of coolants into the sea and other part of the land affecting people around that area. Therefore, through the disaster, it affected both the inhabitants because through inhaling the gases, it results to breathing system of human being. Moreover, it affects the ozone layers resulting to acid rains that cause corrosion on the buildings, hence, results to the collapse of the buildings.

These affected people negatively, showing various effect of energy as a disaster to the people.
