E-Learning - Education - Advantages
Despite limitless opportunities, the field of education has remained painfully stagnated in usage of technology. The stagnation is so sticking that there are few differences between the classrooms and approaches today and 20 years ago. However, the area has started to advance, and e-learning has emerged as a leading instructional method in contemporary times. However, there are still limitations and reservations regarding the use of e-learning as a substitution of classrooms learning. Stakeholders query the importance of e-learning to increasing the worth of education, as well as the relationship between student motivation and e-learning. There are also questions of the applicability of the models as well as the feasibility of these applications. This paper will examine literature in the field of e-learning and make deductions regarding its use in the field of education.
The first major question raised questions the applicability of e-learning in the field of education. It was proposed that posting learning materials on an online platform was the equivalent of giving handouts and letting students do their own research. Gaskell conquers with this view. According to his article, the best use of e-learning is to facilitate open and distance-learning (Gaskell, 2009). Therefore, e-learning is merely a tool for submitting assignments according
[...] After the realization of the role of e-learning, the logical step is to evaluate the application process. Anderson proposes that the best model of use is to recognize the areas that require enhancement. For example, he proposes that an area in need of reinforcement is the best place to start the application process (Anderson, 2008). Anderson also shows that the learning models are applicable in all sorts of organizations, as opposed to being the exclusive domain of the educations institutions (Anderson, 2008). [...]
[...] The article ‘adopting an e-learning strategy: The practical considerations of delivering a successful e-learning program' proposes this is owed to the elevated expenditure of use. In higher institutions, students and sponsors support research and advancement. The result is that the source of capital for investment in technology is reliable due to minimal political interferences. In addition, the competition for the provision of quality services, as an allure to prospective students, leads to advancements in higher institutions of learning (Al-Omari & Salameh, 2012). Aixia also suggests the level of satisfaction students derive from learning is affected by the quality of the service provided (Aixia, 2011). [...]
[...] Earlier, this paper showed that e-learning increases the quality of learning when it is used in a complimentary basis. However, the problem of replacing traditional methods was not tackled. The reluctance of organizations to adopt the e-learning platforms for the programs considered relevant to the schools in most universities, as proposed by Aixia implies that the organizations regard e-learning inferior to traditional learning (Aixia, 2011). Al-Omari & Salameh propose that the methods used in instructions are responsible for the differences. [...]

[...] In conclusion, the role of e-learning in future educational purposes cannot be disputed. In contemporary times, it is mainly used as a platform to complement the existing models. However, trend indicates that advancements are likely to lead to a more prominent role. For example, the rise of interactive programs with the invention of social media resulted in the onset discussion boards as a viable substitution for classroom learning. References Al-Omari, A.
