Robert Kagans article, "The Civil War and Creed of Civilization Progress" and Michael Hunts article, "Economic Primacy, Righteous Nationalism, and an Activist State" are similar in their contents. The two articles are as a result of the American economic status. They both provide different approaches towards how to improve the economic conditions of Americans. As seen in the articles, civilization and civil wars were so common among the Americans. This contributed to the article by Robert. On the other hand, while the nation is moving from the civil wars, we are left with the need to improve the economic conditions of the nations. The essay will focus on the comparison of the two articles.
The second article by Michael Hunt is based on the GDP of America. The article analyses the different conditions that placed the America economy much better than that of Britain during the nineteenth century. This article analyses that the high level f economic performance, that is attributed to the increased in capita income made the American economy to improve greatly as Britain's dwarfed back. The article continues to explain the specific factors that may be attributed to the sudden change in the economic performance of America. Manufacturing, which is a very crucial economic activity, rose at a very high rate in America and by 1913, it was ranked before Britain (Huntington, 2005).
[...] As with the article, this is attributed to the fertile land present in America and as well mineral resources that are found in the country. Cheap resources that are easily found in America are attributed to the rapid change in the industrial performance. Technology advancements that were applied in agricultural activities also play an important role in promoting this rapid change in the economy. As with Hunt, the economy of a nation is determined by the amount of capital that each citizen have and as well the different conditions that they are put in (Huntington, 2005). [...]

The natural resources and as well the fertile land are attributed to the rapid change in the economic performance. On the other hand, the article by Robert has a sense of civil wars that were hindrances towards civilization in America. However, the article by Michael only concentrates on the economic performance not paying attention on the civil wars that America was experiencing. [...]
