We can talk about brand appropriation: people who can in a way take advantage of this appeal to their own profit without necessarily complain with all the legislation and therefore without cleaning what the brand's owners want to clean. For example, on the street, we can buy a shirt from any brand you want, and this is a form of appropriation. From the periphery you have actors who are managing to take advantage of the globalization of culture despite the way and influence that western and western brands may have in it. As I said, the brands are fighting back. For instance, Adidas made a campaign to persuade not to buy counter fake of Adidas shoes. In this case you have 2 plain: some will say it is not legal and not moral, and you have a more practical plan which is to say this is not healthy (products are not safe, so you should pay more to get the original shoes). We can say that this second way is not stopping cultural globalization because it still spreads western culture, and also it spreads the economic benefits of globalization a little more widely. Moreover, it is a way of appropriating some of the value of those brands.
