If India has always been considered as « the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legends and the great-grandmother of tradition » (Mark Twain, American writer, 1885), the country is regarded as a place of contradictions given that it had to face many controversial situations. Indeed, deeply rooted in their history, Indian people have embraced modernity altogether. As a result, the country looks like a surprising and perfect mix of modernity and tradition.

They also focused on improving Indian agricultural expansion, and growing exports of Indian culture through music, literature, and cinema, creating a specific Bollywood style which participated into an elaborated new Indian culture.
