The term military revolution refers to theories that try to explain a series of drastic changes in the military over a period of time. It led to many changes that lasted for a long time in the politics and society in Europe. Michael Robert was the introducer of this theory in the year 1950 as he researched major changes that occurred in the European military due to the introduction of guns as a weapon. He stated that military technology relates to many events in history. He stated that the military grew very fast as many citizens joined and later turned out to be very expensive. The revolution in the military also led to the formation of new administrations, government institutions, and the creation of new demands. Many researchers agreed with Robert's theory. However, other researchers criticized it.
