During the Cold War, between 1947 and 1991, there were a lot of geopolitical tensions in the world. The United States of America was involved in the Korea independence war with the UN, the Vietnam War, and several other conflicts.

This make us understand that freedom of the press isn't just a right engraved in the constitution, but this is a real democratic tool for people, permitting to denounce abuses of power and political misconducts that threat the stabillity of a viable and true democracy. CREEP members were first convicted (on january of 1973), a select committee has been created to investigate on the Watergate affair, and Nixon's advocate John Dean revealed his role in those machinations.
