Hegel case study, Christian world
The established order is not considered as something supreme; rather it is the change that receives this attribute. A determination appears in humans, it is a true ability to become better, a pulse to the perfectibility. This is without purpose or end, it is indefinable because quite undetermined. The principle of evolution has a specific meaning: it implies that there is at the basis of evolution an existing internal layout itself which is realized in the existence of which the mind is the absolute key. This realization is done with the awareness and the will that is of infinite power and wealth. It goes through a hard struggle of the spirit against himself because he wants to reach his own concept but he hides it in a self-alienation. In nature change is a repetition of the same but it is otherwise with the spiritual forms since it operates in the concept that is rectified. In mind, each change is progress, world history is usually the explanation of the mind in time, as the idea is explicit in space like in nature. One of the definitions of this progress is that it is a succession of stages of consciousness.
There are four periods of history focusing on the evolution of the principle whose content is the consciousness of freedom. Such determination shall be given by the logic as to its general nature, and the philosophy of mind as to his real character. In the first stage, the features are found in the eastern world, the spirit is embedded in the naturalness and exists only as a non-free singularity. The second is where the mind partially out of that first state and reaches the consciousness of freedom, see the Greek world. The third time is the elevation of this freedom, yet special, to pure universality, this world is the Roman world. In the last stage, the mind is reconciled with the concept, then we are in the Christian world.
[...] As a country of the future where the gravity of world history may be manifested in the antagonism of North America with South America, only to be taken into account its external relation to the Europe and we must focus our interest on the Old World, which is the scene of world history. It is divided into three parts and is spiritual difference is its foundation. They are organized around the privileged communication center that is the Mediterranean Sea. Africa is generally the country folded on itself and persisting in the main character of concentration on oneself. [...]
[...] The evolution in history through a people qu'exhume needs to know something new. Thus performs better and more universal representation of itself, exceeded its own principle. In the history of a people can overcome only once because in the process of the Spirit a people can handle only one task always with the aim of returning to itself. This trend is also reflected in the religion whose purpose is to honor God and glorify the truth since the mind also gets its share by the knowledge that his action in honor of God is the absolute action. [...] So the temperate zone, specifically its northern area, which was the scene of world history. The most general form of historically important natural determination is one that is made by the ratio between the sea and the land. The land has three fundamental differences and these three moments are the most essential among those available to the particular distinction can bring them all external determinations. The first time proved to be the high country with its great steppes and plains surrounded by a mountain belt. [...]
[...] The man's concern is no longer about a single day but over a long period, he developed his inventiveness. Great empires rise in these countries and the establishment of powerful states begins. We must consider that water is a unifying factor. The third element is the sea. It awakens the courage and cunning, and while the first two elements restricted the freedom of man, who was attached to the floor, she leads beyond this limitation. She invites man to conquer, to robbery but also gain and acquisition. [...]
[...] On the contrary in the Eastern world, there there a force that exists in and of itself. Individuals are reciprocally linked and appeared in Asia conscience of the state. It is the continent of the beginning. Here, if we exclude Siberia, the natural conditions are positive: high mountain belt is cut by rivers that form large immensely fertile and lush plains, which are the centers of a particular civilization. The starting point for peoples established the mountains is the pastoral life which first led to a quiet life of nomads and instability manifested in the institution of pillage and finally the nomadic become conquerors.
