Declaration of Independence, freedom of speech
The Declaration of Independence is a sole document that called for the separation from British rule. The document illustrates how much unrest was evident between Britain and the thirteen colonies. The British government created unrest from the countless attempts of oppression. The oppression was concentrated in the financial taxation, religion, overbearing law and military enforcement. The Declaration of independence contains what the individuals in the thirteen colonies wanted to be eliminated and trusted in. They wanted freedom; from freedom of speech and military and government rule that conflicts with the rights of a human being given by God. The document portrays the true meaning or rather definition of being an American thirsting for freedom. The Congress asked Jefferson Thomas and other delegates to write a declaration of independence. The document was to explain why the thirteen colonies needed to become independent of Britain. Jefferson after going through it says that the Declaration of Independence illustrates the Nature's God and Laws of Nature entitling the people to have the right to assume their preferred type of independence politically (2002).

(Jefferson, 2002).
