For years, the employee's work life and life at home were shared by working away from home office. Thus, the beginning of remote working was a sign of revolutionization in the classical work-life balance paradigm, opening opportunities and difficulties for individuals and the organization alike. Remote work is where the workers complete their assignments outside of the regular office. The trend of criticizing this practice is usually promoted by management mostly because it is relatively inexpensive as compared to traditional production processes and leads to an increase in productivity and profit for the company.

Hence, through the theoretical framework of this research question, grounded theory allows researchers to analyze in a detailed way the strategies used and applied by remote workers to stay balanced at their jobs and live a suitable social and private life. Through the recursive process of collecting and analyzing data on those dynamics, grounded theory methodology makes it possible to have new insights about working-life balance among teleworkers and to set forth theoretical frameworks showing in deep detail exact ways working-life balance works in the remote work environment.
